Pom Dance Team Option for girls that love to dance: Pom Dance participants will learn dance techniques (leaps, turns, & jumps.)
Definition: "Dance" or "Poms" are a type of dance team that use the pompons in their dance routine. Dance squads are different from cheerleading in key ways.
Pom Dance Teams -- which are part of the general term athletic dance -- dance with their poms to showcase precise and tight arm motions as well as technical dance skills (such as jumps, turns, and leaps), and various other types of dance including hip hop, jazz, and kick lines.
CYFA POM DANCE Grades:
5th-Junior High
If you love dancing and performing then CYFA Pom Dance is for you. Our Pom Dance
squads perform sideline cheers, sideline dances and half time performances.
If you are
interested in being part of the halftime and sideline fun then pom dance is perfect for you.
Learn
new skills, make new friends, get stronger, gain confidence, and have tons of
fun.
CYFA Pom Dance
The mission of the CYFA Pom Dance Team Program is to help participants learn the
fundamentals of pom routines that will include a variety of dance styles from
hip hop to jazz. As the participants move up with each level the routines
become more advanced to better prepare them for High School poms,
through regular practice and competition. Our Pom Dance squads perform Sideline
Cheers, Sideline Dances and Half Time Performances and is fashioned after
the Claremore High School Dance Team. Pom Dance Teams perform
at home and away games. Participants must choose either poms dance or
cheer due to practice and game time conflicts.

Costs:
Registration: $85.00
Dance Tops $20.00
Poms $20.00
You will need: Black Jazz Boots and Black Jazz Pants (found at Taps in
Claremore or Checkers in Tulsa)
All participants must participate in
fundraiser.
